I have an antique glass syringe with a stuck plunger.?

I am trying to restore a small antique glass syringe (no needle) with a metal plunger that seems to be stuck. This is for a collector of old medical instruments. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to unstick something like that?

Heat the glass syringe with hot water and it will expand then you can remove the plunger
